Max Landon Bio
I was born in the Bay Area, living most of my childhood life in a town called Niles, nestled against the golden hills on the East Side of the Metropolis of Fremont. With plentiful access to garden engulfed quarry ponds to explore as a child, my interest in all things outside grew. Many of my interactions with nature are through the activities that I enjoy doing which include; BMX, surfing, snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, farming, and walking my dog.
I went to community college after high school where I started out studying ceramics and fine art. Shortly thereafter the disciplines of oceanography and ecology became more of interest and seemed more relevant to my life goals. After community college I studied Environmental Studies at University of California Santa Cruz where I attempted to focus on conservation, realizing after I started that my interests and desires included teaching, policy, and farming as well as conservation. At the confluence of all of these i started dreaming of the interactions that could be developed between humans, native california plants as well as more mainstream crops (cucumbers, romaine lettuce, bell peppers, etc).
